Portable OS

We travel a lot sometimes, but we cannot carry everything around. We want to listen to our own music, watch our own movies, play some computer games, do some paperwork or surf the web while waiting for someone. So we buy a MP3 player, a laptop, a Blackberry or HTC… Wait a minute, is that necessary?

Here is a little tip for you if you are lazy to carry so many things including laptops. You can just get a external hard drive and install Linux into it!

You may ask: How could it possible to boot Linux from external hard drive? The answer is yes, modern computers support booting from USB nowadays, so you can plug into any computer and boot your data. You can have your own data with you all the time, and you do not need to struggle to get used to other people’s computer. All you need is… any computer that can boot from USB, that’s all.

Portable OS is very convenient and useful. Imagine if your computer breaks down, you are in the middle of work, and the presentation due date is tomorrow… that is where portable OS comes in. You can boot your Linux in other places and continue your work temporary, and you do not have to access other people’s account. After you are done, just shut down and plug out. Not only that, you can backup your data in the broken PC although you cannot log in anymore.

So when you are unable to carry your heavy laptop with you, why not try this out? You can find computers everywhere, but not portable OS.
