This is just a guidelines for CPR steps and the information may be outdated and not in detail. You should attend a proper CPR course.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency medical procedure for cardiac arrest. CPR skill may saves one’s life during an emergency, when one suffers from sudden heart attack or drowning. Most of the cases people do not survive because they do not get immediate help. Generally, brain cells will start dying after 4 minutes when the blood is not circulated to the brain.

Because of this, the procedure has been tweaked many times. The latest version is after checking the response of victim and activate EMS, you should start ECC before you open airway and check pulse. It means that you simplified 2 steps in front and save more time. Generally, before you do CPR, you should check the condition of the victim. If it is not safe to do so, the best way is to wait for professional medical team.

CPR saves lives. Everyone should learn it.
